I chose to read Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell for my summer reading project. The two main characters in my book are Eleanor and Park.
Eleanor is the new kid, she has big red hair and has a crazy sense of clothing style. Eleanor has just moved back in with her mom and her step dad, which she isn't to happy about, she loves her mom but hates her step dad because he is a horrible dad and doesn't treat her mom right. Eleanor is having a very rough time coming back home and it gets even worse when she has to go to school. Her only friend is Park, who she met on the bus.
Park isn't a loser, but he isn't popular. His mom is the neighborhood hair dresser so he gets along with most of the kids in the neighborhood. When he first saw Eleanor he thought she was a freak just like everyone else. But when she didn't have a seat on the bus he was forced to let her sit with him.
I think that after Eleanor and Park get to know each other it will be just like any other love story. Soon enough they will figure out they are deeply in love but they can't be together because of Eleanors' family. My only two questions while reading this book is, after Eleanor and Park realize they love each other will they find a way to be together and will their relationship last?
